This vintage Broyhill gentleman's chest has been thoughtfully restored to celebrate its original lines and rich character, allowing the warm wood tones and striking parquet door panels to remain the focal point. At 46" H x 40" W x 20" D, the piece is solid and structurally sound—built with the quality craftsmanship Broyhill is known for—and every surface was carefully stripped, sanded, cleaned, and refinished before being sealed with multiple durable matte topcoats that preserve the look and feel of natural wood. The two parquet-style cabinet doors open to divided shelving (shelves slide and are easily removable), and three spacious dovetail drawers glide smoothly on sanded and conditioned wooden runners. The original brass hardware has been cleaned and polished to complement the wood’s warmth. Note: the chest arrived with significant wear and, while restored with care, retains a few minimal cosmetic imperfections—most notably slight veneer chipping along the backside top edge—which are reflected in the price and contribute to the authentic story of this vintage piece.
